  • [May 2024 Enhancement] Using the Singpass app Inbox as a method of substituted service

Based on user feedback, we have made the following enhancements:

    #BeforeEnhancement
1       There must be a document titled “Summons for Substituted Service” in the case file before eService via the Singpass app Inbox is possible.

As long as there is a Court Order that allows for substituted service via the Singpass app Inbox, the user will be able to do so. The Court Order does not necessarily have to be consequent to a “Summons for Substituted Service”.

2  Users can eServe documents via the Singpass app Inbox on case parties only.

Users can now eServe documents via the Singpass app Inbox to non-parties as well (e.g. a director of a company), provided that there is a Court Order allows for it. Users can do so by entering the non-parties’ NRIC/FIN numbers.

    For more information, please:

    • go to eLitigation.sg > FAQ > eService > eServe documents to Individuals – Singpass app Inbox or
    • click here for the User Guide.
  • [Feb 2024] New on SG Courts Mobile App: Get queue ticket for High Court hearings

Get queue tickets for physical or virtual attendance at High Court hearings (except for Duty Registrar hearings) through the SG Courts Mobile App.

    Benefits:

    • Convenient and efficient – You may use your handphone to obtain queue tickets instead of having to travel to the Supreme Court to obtain your queue ticket physically from the kiosk, especially if you are attending a hearing virtually.
    • Realtime update – You can choose to receive SMS or App-based push-notifications. You will start receiving these notifications when you are fifth in the queue (i.e. there are 4 people ahead of you in the queue).

Please refer to the URL https://judiciary-epd.gitbook.io/sg-courts-mobile-app-user-guide for the user guide, FAQs and release notes.

  • [April enhancements] Document Signing Service (DSS)

The Document Signing Service (DSS) on eLitigation is a convenient, secure and free service for digitally signing documents online.

Based on user feedback, we have made major upgrades to DSS –

    • Enhanced privacy: DSS Documents can only be accessed by arrangers and law firm administrators.
    • Simple delegation: Arrangers and law firm administrators can transfer ownership of DSS Documents to other users within the law firm.
    • Better tracking: Arrangers can easily review the progress of their requests and identify current pending signers.
    • Greater control: Arrangers can cancel pending requests. Notifications will be sent to designated signing parties with valid email addresses.
    • Better organisation: Focus on active requests. Completed, expired, cancelled or lapsed documents will be automatically archived after 14 days, with attachments removed.

Thank you for your kind support and feedback. We will continue to enhance DSS with your suggestions.

Signature Validation Check: GovTech has recently published a Quick User Guide, providing information on how users can configure Adobe Acrobat Reader to automatically validate the digital signature generated using Sign with Singpass in a signed document. View the Sign with Singpass Quick User Guide here: https://go.gov.sg/sign-with-singpass-quick-user-guide.

  • Asynchronous Hearings on eLitigation – convenience and productivity

The Supreme Court will be conducting a pilot for Asynchronous Hearings and eLitigation has been enhanced with new features to facilitate such Asynchronous Hearings, including:

    • Instant messaging
    • Document sharing
    • Task lists and deadline tracking
    • Issuance of orders and directions by the Court
    • Quick search for Asynchronous Hearing messages and documents

The Court will write to lawyers who are eLitigation subscribers in appropriate cases to invite them to participate in the pilot for Asynchronous Hearings. • [New Enhancement] Document Signing Service (DSS) Email Notifications for Signers

The Document Signing Service (DSS) on eLitigation is a convenient, secure and free service for digitally signing documents online:

+ eLitigation subscribers can request for digital signatures for any type of document*; and

+ Signers are designated to sign (using Singpass) in a specific sequence

    * DSS may be used to digitally sign non-Court documents as well.

Based on user feedback, we have enhanced DSS – If the arranger specifies the signers’ email addresses during the document setup process, the signers will:

    + Automatically receive an email notification when it is their turn to sign the document;

+ Automatically receive an email notification with a PDF of the signed document, when all signatures have been received.

DSS will be enhanced further when we receive more feedback and suggestions! Further enhancements are already planned. Watch this space!
