Originating Summons (Family) or OSF is a type of Originating Summons case that is filed solely at the District Family Court. Examples of proceedings that can be filed in the Family Court include Guardianship of Children, Enforcement of a Syariah Court Order and Section 59 Proceedings under the Women’s Charter.
Pre-trial conferences for OSF are held in the Family Court to ensure the parties are ready to proceed to a hearing or are disposed off speedily. During pre-trial conferences, parties may be directed to attend mediation, counselling or joint conferences if necessary.
