Appeal

Appeals can either be Appeals to the Court of Appeal (Order 57) or District Court Appeals (Order 55D). Appeals to the Court of Appeal may be an appeal against a decision after a trial, or an appeal against the decisions made in chambers.

To proceed with an appeal against a decision after trial, a party has to file and serve a Notice of Appeal within one month from the date of Judgment or Order Appeal Against. On the other hand, an appeal against the decision made in chambers can be taken against any decision made by a Judge in his/her chambers.  The dissatisfied party must send a letter requesting for further arguments before the same Judge within seven days of the delivery of the Judge’s decision.
