The Nature of Case specifies the main argument or claim in the case.

 

The Nature of Case, along with the selected Act of Parliament/Subsidiary Legislation, determines the type of Originating Summons case to be filed.   Refer to Types of Originating Summons for more information.

 

 

 

The Act of Parliament/Subsidiary Legislation allows the user to indicate a specific legislation and provision involved in the Originating Summons case.

 

Additional fields may be displayed depending on the selected legislation.  The selected legislation, along with the Nature of Case, also determines the type of Originating Summons case to be filed.   Refer to Types of Originating Summons for more information.

After entering all information in the Step 1: Case Information Page, click Next to go to the Step 2: Form Page. This page lists all the documents needed in filing the case.

When the Summons case is submitted, Law Firm Users can retrieve the case again to select the type of summon to be made. Refer to the Filing a Summons for more details.

 

 

 

Once the summons case has been submitted, the case will be saved in the case information repository. This repository allows the user to retrieve the submitted case and update the documents and case information.

To fill out the grounds for prayers:

1. Go to the Summons form and click Compose to view the form.

 

2. Locate the Grounds section on which Relief is sought on the Statement of Claim.

3. Enter information about the grounds in the field provided.

 

4. To add more grounds, enter the number in Add field then click Para.
